Engraving showing a seated woman holding an armillary sphere next to a celestial globe. Behind her a man is using a cros-staff to measure the position of the stars in the heavens. In this allegorical composition the woman is thought to represent, Urania the Greek muse for astronomy. The necklace of the Sun and Moon worn by the female figure further supports this interpretation.
