Model of Bage's flax mill at Shrewsbury in Shropshire constructed by Cecil A. Hewett. Ditherington was built in 1796-7, as part of the empire that was then being created by Leeds-based industrialist, John Marshall, and designed by his busines partner, Charles Bage. It took over a year to build and was a first in structural engineering; it was the first iron-framed building in the world and probably the first 'skyscraper'.
