Description

"Pencil drawing with white highlights on grey paper by Muirhead Bone, showing the St Rollox chemical works in Glasgow. The chimney, named Tennant's Stalk after Charles Tennant, was the tallest in the world at the time. Tennant (1768-1838) was a manufacturing chemist and established the St Rollox works in 1800."
