Coloured aquatint by Thomas Rowlandson showing his eponymous hero, Dr Syntax, on a visit to a glasworks. Dr Syntax and another man have lumps of molten glas at the end of tubes in the manner of glasblowers. However, his careles companion is singeing Dr Syntax's wig. A group of onlookers, including genuine glasworkers, watch in amusement. Published by Ackermann.
