Description

Hand-coloured etching by Richard Dighton illustrating a woman pasing a chemists and being thrown backwards by an explosion from within the shop. She is hit in the face by a chemists flask and is surrounded by items that have been thrown out of the shop including pills, lozenges and a leaflet claiming 'persons electrified on the shortest notice'. A young boy has also fallen to the pavement in front of her and the chemist himself stands by the window of the shop looking shocked at what has happened.
