Engraving by N Guerard showing Inca royalty, 'after a picture made by the Indians of Cuzco'. Also shown are: a Peruvian Indian (C); female Indian with mantilla (D); their houses (E); plan and profile of a furnace for burning the 'Icho' herb (F and G); vesels found in ancient Indian tombs (H). Illustration from 'A Voyage to the South-sea, and along the coasts of Chili and Peru, in the years 1712, 1713, and 1714. Particularly describing the genius and constitution of the inhabitants, as well Indians as Spaniards' by French engineer Amedee Francois Frezier, (1682-1773), published in London in 1717.
