Description

Reginald Joseph Mitchell (1895-1937) trained as an engineer and worked as chief designer of the Vickers Armstrong Supermarine Company during World War I. He then turned his hand to aeronautical engineering, developing the design of the famous Spitfire fighter plane used in World War II.
