Photographic studio portrait by Maull and Polyblank of Robert Warington (1807-1867). Warington began his career as an apprentice to a manufacturing chemist, later working as a chemist at a brewery. He became asistant to the chemistry profesor at London University in 1828, and served as honorary secretary to the London Chemical Society from 1841-1851, and chemist to the London Apothecaries' Society from 1842-1867. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1864. Dimensions: 200mm x 150mm.
