Studio portrait photograph by Maull and Polyblank of Thomas de la Rue (1793-1866). De la Rue founded a London firm which produced card and ornamental paper. He was granted a patent in 1831 for using letterpres printing in the production of playing cards. De la Rue's company also printed fiscal, Inland Revenue and postage stamps for the United Kingdom and its colonies. Dimensions: 200mm x 150mm.
