Engraving of Lister (1571-1646) who was physician to Queen Anne (1574-1619) and to King Charles I (1600-1649). Lister is believed to have introduced rhubarb to Europe; high in Vitamin C, it was of great nutritional use during the winter when most fruit was unavailable. He was knighted in 1636.
