Stipple engraving by Drummond of Adam Walker of Westmoreland (1731-1821). Walker was a self-made scientist and inventor. He was a succesful lecturer at the Haymarket Theatre, London, and helped to define public scientific understanding in chemistry, physics and astronomy in the 18th century. Published in the 'European Magazine' by J Sewell, Cornhill, London, 1 July 1792. Dimensions (overall): 178mm x 114mm.
