Chromolithograph by Vincent Brooks Day and Son Ltd of a caricature by Leslie Ward, better known as Spy, from 'Vanity Fair' magazine. John Scott Burden Sanderson was Profesor of Physiology at Oxford University. In 1878, he recorded the heart's electrical current with a capillary electrometer and proved that the heart beat consists of two phases. Dimensions: 400mm x 270mm.
