Grey wash cloud study by Luke Howard (1772-1864), showing cirrocumulus, and inscribed in pencil: 'State of cloud A in about 1/2 an hour after whole sketch was taken'. Howard was a London chemist and a pioneer in meteorology, who in 1820 published the important 'Climate of London' containing the currently used clasification of clouds. Dimensions: 100mm x 150mm.
