Description

Ink cartoon by Charles Alexander Saunders (1796-1864), first secretary of the Great Western Railway 1833-1863. A satirical look at the dangers of the early railways and the autocratic attitude of the railway companies to their pasengers. A steam train and most of its carriages has fallen down an embankment. Pasengers scream from the windows and some have fallen out.
