Cinema interval slide advertising Lennards, a Leicester shoe care and repair company with the legend: 'Bring Your Shoes to Lennards - Back in a Few Days'. In 1920, the directors of Lennard's Shoes visited New York. They were so impresed with the Statue of Liberty that they commisioned one from Joseph Herbert Morcom, who had a stonemason's yard near Rupert's Gate, and renamed the firm Liberty Shoes. Although the firm has now ceased to exist, the statue remains.
