Hand-coloured carte de visite photograph in a folding presentation case, by John Mayall of 224 Regent Street, London, showing Queen Victoria's youngest child, Princes Beatrice (1857-1944). As the ninth and last of Victoria's children, Beatrice was nicknamed 'Baby' within the royal family. In 1885 she married Prince Henry of Battenburg, Germany, despite her mother's disapproval of the match, and went on to have four children. Her daughter, Victoria Eugenie (1887-1969), later became Queen of Spain.
