Description

This abacus, the largest in the world, was designed and built by the Interactive Development Unit at the London Science Museum as part of 'Maths Year 2000', a government-funded campaign to promote a positive attitude toward mathematics. The abacus is 4.7 metres long, 2.2 metres tall and weighs 380 kilogrammes.
