Description

This pick, made from a deer's antler, is from the prehistoric flint workings known as 'Grimes Graves' in Norfolk. It was made in Norfolk, and would have been used to mine suitable blocks of flint for the making of flint instruments. It is interesting to note that the picks used in the Brandon flint mines today are also single-pointed.
