Technology in Everyday Life' display case in the 'Making the Modern World' Gallery, Science Museum, London, June 2001. This display features some of the manufactured items, necesities and luxuries, some novel, others following well- established patterns, which played an intimate part in people's lives at home, at work and at leisure between 1880 and 1939. This period, which saw the end of Queen Victoria's reign and the convulsion of the First World War, brought dramatic changes in the range of technologies experienced by people in all walks of life.
