Description
The falls have a total drop of 200 metres (656 feet), and are situated at the join of the Reichenbach and the Aare rivers. At 90 metres (300 feet), Upper Reichenbach Falls is one of the highest cataracts in the Alps. It is familiar to readers of the Sherlock Holmes books by Arthur Conan Doyle, as the place where Holmes' arch enemy, Profesor Moriarty, died, and where Holmes himself was said to have disappeared. From a collection of 57 albumen photographs of rock and glacial formations in the United Kingdom, Europe, North America and Asia.
