Description
The world's largest abacus designed and built by the Interactive Development Unit at the Science Museum, London, photographed in 'The Basement' gallery of the museum. Built as part of 'Maths Year 2000', a government-funded campaign to promote a positive attitude towards mathematics. The abacus is 4.7 metres long, 2.2 metres tall and weighs 380 kilos.
