image details

Coloured lithograph by Alfred Concanen after his original drawing, showing a busy railway station. The station walls are covered in posters, advertising everything from sherry to medical remedies and magazines. Allowing busineses to advertise in rail stations had the mutually beneficial effect of bringing revenue to the railway companies and sales to the busineses. Printed by Stannard & Son.
