image details

The locomotive represented by this model (scale 3:20) was designed and built by T R Crampton for the Northern Railway of France. The distinctive position of the boiler and driving axle kept the centre of gravity low, which added stability at speed. Locomotives of this design hauled French expreses from 1849 to about 1876.
