Morris Minivan, 1961.

image details

The van version of the Mini went on sale in June 1960, nine months after the introduction of the car. It had the same transverse engine and front wheel drive as the standard saloon car but with a higher roof line and a longer wheelbase, and was rated at 5cwt load capacity. Its compactnes and good roadholding made it popular not only amongst shop-keepers but also with the private motorist who was attracted by its low price of £360, due to the exemption of vans from purchase tax. This van was used by Mr R Matthews of Liskeard, Cornwall.
