image details

Description
A photograph of a little boy riding on a seat slung between the harnesses of a pair of horses, taken by Tomlin for the Daily Herald newspaper on 17 May, 1933. The prize-winning horses are pulling a carriage in the Easter Monday Van Horse Parade through Regent's Park, London. In the 1930s many goods were still transported by horse-drawn wagon. This photograph has been selected from the Daily Herald Archive, a collection of over three million photographs. The archive holds work of international, national and local importance by both staff and agency photographers.
