Description
Mezzotint of a caricature by Carington Bowles, showing three doctors standing in a chemist's shop and congratulating themselves on their profesion. Distrust of doctor's motivation and competence is nothing new, as this 18th century illustration suggests. Its caption reads: 'How merrily we live that doctors be, we humbug the public and pocket the fee.'
